Power to the people AND the fans!! And if you haven’t spent some time at the Dell Lounge lately, you need to stop what you are doing and plug in to the incredible talent competing for the 2008 “The Sound and the Jury” contest.
Heading into our second week of voting, the top of the leaderboard is seeing constant changes. Currently Jen Foster is holding a slight lead over 60 Tigres. However NEEDMORE, David Ramirez and The Non are closing fast. Having said all that, there is still *plenty* of time for bands to be voted toward the top and win a chance to play live on the Dell stage at the 2008 Austin City Limits music festival.

If you are an artist or in a band, you can still enter the contest and compete. Take a look at the following contest overview and register today!
For everyone already in the battle, please make sure you add links to your Myspace, Facebook and fan pages online, and encourage your fans to vote daily. Remember, this round of voting is open until August 22, so make sure you check the site often and vote for your favorite band today. Limit is one vote per day, per valid e-mail address.
Last year, Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys battled all the way to the top. So who will be next to take the Dell stage in 2008? You can help decide!
Please comment and let me know what you think of the bands. Or you can also hit me up on Twitter @ChrisBatDell. Hope to hear from you soon.

Anyone know how Jen Foster was in 1st place in the fan voting but didn’t even “qualify” into the top 20? Seems shady to me and I know there are a lot of pissed off fans. Please reply if you have insight.

@brittany:
Thanks for the response.
The top 100 bands were narrowed to 20 after being selected by our celebrity judges. Refer to the following link in regards to the Contest Overview:

AUGUST 23 — AUGUST 28
The competition kicks into high gear. Celebrity judges will narrow the Top 100 down to the Top 20. Getting nervous?
Let me know if you have any other questions. =)
