Inspiron Mini 12 fans can come off the sidelines, because the slim, light and affordable antidote to ultra-expensive ultraportables is now available with Ubuntu Linux OS (starting at $499) and Windows XP (starting at $549) .
As I mentioned in a previous post, netbook purists continue to be intrigued by the Mini 12, with even diehard Apple fanboys conceding that the new Inspiron Mini 12 could give potential MacBook Air shoppers at least $500 worth of reasons to reconsider.

I’m one of those people that have been griping that enough systems from Dell come with Linux pre-installed. I’m one of those people that have waited to see the Ubuntu version of the Mini 12 to become available (it was a long month). And now…
I’m one of those people that bought the Mini 12 with Ubuntu. I can’t wait until my new netbook arrives!

And bring Mini 12 / XP laptop to the European market ! Up to now, only Ubuntu and Vista Basic are available. I can’t wait (and can’t buy it on the US site, I need a localised version)…
