I just wish you could customize the Lenovo more. I'd like to add 512MB ram to make 1GB total and swap the standard HDD for a smaller SSD drive (8GB -12GB). I'd also like to see Wireless N as an option. Aside from those 3 things - This is the perfect Netbook for me.

I am going to buy 2 when I can get the specs I want. A red for my wife and a black one for me! (ALL FOR UNDER $1000!!!) I love Netbooks!

Can't wait!

The problem with the wireless credit card terminals is that quite a lot of them use unencrypted wireless networks which means that people can lift your credit card and PIN numbers directly out of the air. Ouch!

Lenovo website is updated and now states ships in 3-5 days for the S10. I have to hand it to Lenovo. They stated it would launch in Oct. And now are about to start shipping in 3-5 business days.

The Aspire One does look pretty good. I don't like the glossiness of the Dell anyway; I prefer a matt finish. I guess I'll start looking for an Aspire One I can actually touch to try it out.

You should enjoy Germany, Berlin is nice. I would make some recommendations but I only did a quick tour of Berlin. Checkpoint Charlie was interesting but if you want a picture with the soldier expect to pay for it.

Lenovo has launched the S10 with 10 inch screen with Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X4500. It is very attractive when compared to others except the RAM is quite small (with only 512 MB).

After reading a number of sites on netbooks I am going to go w/ the Lenovo S10. The frames around all of the smaller 8.9" screens are too thick. It would be nice to see the 10" version of the Dell but I don't think that will happen anytime soon... I only wish Lenovo used SSD more.

@sugarbear, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Bernina. They are incredible. Sew smooth and last forever. I'm saving up for the 830. :-) That is incredible you make quilts the old fashioned way. My hat off to you! That's not easy.

HDD. say what you want about the speed of flash but I can get a lot of music and video on 120g sata. All this and more for 399.99 from Micro Center. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0293528. I may try yours when you come out with wimax or 3G.
